Through sounds, interstitial spaces, and exploration, I delve into the transmigration between various points in time, using language in its diverse forms of words, sounds, and knowledge.
By recording sounds around the periphery of the area, I construct an intricate map of the zone, rethinking its historical trajectory from a sonic perspective. These new maps serve as guides to discover the floating territory, uncovering deep community insights hidden within the margins.
The aim of this project is to redefine our experience of territory, generating new meanings and political possibilities within our communities by perceiving the "invisible" surroundings and incorporating diverse voices.
By making the limits audible, we gain access to a richer understanding of ourselves and our landscapes, ultimately reshaping maps and exploring the resonance of a more plural world.
In this initial stage, the installation presents a collection of materials including images, maps, and sounds captured from the edges of the field, operating within layers of historical information to depict the community as a dynamic, ever-evolving entity.

03 SOUND INTERVENTIONS AT THE GRASPOMATÓN INSTALLATION Recordings - Fragment I of interview to visitors to the Graspomatón. Recordings - Fragment II of interview to visitors to the Graspomatón.
# This collaborative opportunity was extended by the designer and showcased during the GÜTERMARKT X-mas Special at ZK/U Berlin in December 2018.
The Graspomatón Sound Interventions consist of recordings of visitors' personal explorations of their auditory landscape, building upon the groundwork laid at Radio Stadt Träume.
This public art installation (grapomaton), conceived by Valentine Bossert, aims to democratize art by bringing it to the streets and involving local artists from various disciplines.
Inside the capsule, I guided visitors through a series of instructions intended to help them connect with their own auditory experiences while navigating the city of Berlin. These sessions were recorded and provided to the participants (fragments in the videos above).
In this series of interviews responses, individuals delve into the depths of their recent dreams and auditory memories. Prompted to recall the sounds that linger from their nocturnal adventures and everyday experiences, each participant offers a unique glimpse into their subconscious and the sonic landscape of their surroundings.
From whimsical reveries of ponies to the haunting echoes of a hamster's dream, these accounts paint a vivid portrait of auditory perception and memory. Here some extracts :
-
Interviewer ( Me ) : Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
-
What was the latest dream you had? Try to remember one sound from that dream. Make a sound you remember from looking through a window in Berlin.
- A girl makes the sound of a pony that appeared in her latest dream, and a word she caught in the air.
- Julius, a man, sings the melody he hears from outside. He describes his last dream walking in the snow and remembers the sound of his feet in the snow.
- An Italian woman describes her hamster's dream and makes the sounds of her terror, mimicking the scurrying and squeaking of her pet in its dream.
- A man remembers the last time he looked through a window when it was raining and makes the sound that he remembers. He wonders when the hot weather will return but doesn't remember his last dream.
- Two women say their names out loud.
